Application Developer (Java)

Kforce is seeking an Application Developer (Java) in Fairfax, VA. The role involves analyzing user requirements, designing and developing user interfaces for enterprise applications using agile methodology, and integrating applications through database architecture and server scripting. The developer will also troubleshoot development and production problems, support users with documentation, and participate in SCRUM team meetings, including writing user stories and test cases.

• Experience in a similar role or significant knowledge to successfully perform the responsibilities

Description

Key Tasks:

• Analyze user requirements, envisioning system features and functionality
• Design and develop user interfaces to enterprise applications in agile methodology
• Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives
• Integrate applications by designing database architecture and server scripting
• Complete applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; Contributing to team meetings; Troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms
• Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools
• Participate in SCRUM team meetings
• Write and/or refine user stories, acceptance criteria
• Write test cases as needed

Requirements

• This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline; Or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
